Desperately Seeking Readers!

I was so fascinated by it that I just had to share it with you before lunch. I wanted to put in a winky smiley here but it seems to interfere with the templates.....or something so no winky smiley, sorry.

Stanford University announces plans to clone human embryos

WOW! I don't know if this is entirely advisable.....I can just see the headlines screaming anto-cloning news....Although it is for a good cause because alot of times, stem cell treatment is the most effective way to grow new 'weapons' to fight the disease. However, this issue leads almost seamlessly into another controversial matter with regards to the procreation of human embryos (brothers or sisters to be less impersonal) specifically to be generators of stem cells to be harvested. We'll see what happens.

Christmas is coming and New Year's is coming. After that there will be one month of solid work (yes, no public holidays in January!) followed by CHINESE NEW YEAR!

Raya has come and almost gone....though looking around the office and even some roads around KL, you'll think it was still here.....There's hardly anybody around.

I was involved in an accident just before Hari Raya. Clumsy old me accelerated into the back of a Kembara at a roundabout. It was a case of bad driving for me because I stepped on the pedal without confirming that the woman drive in front of me, although having pushed the nose of her Kembara so far out into the traffic, still hadn't moved....Well, it was an expensive lesson. Cost me RM700 to replace my bonnet, grill, have some knocking done to realign crooked bits of metal....

C'est la vie!

Yahoo! News - Bad Sex Prize Up for Grabs
So, have you guys heard of the above before? I was just talking about this with a friend earlier in the week and here we have the most recent winners!

Well, it's that time of the year again! December.....when Hari Raya is going to be celebrated as well as Christmas and people rush to get home to be with loved ones and families....There is no other time in the year that inspires people (or the other extreme!) like this time of the year.

Each year, December never fails to put people in the mood for good spirits, love, reflection and a lightness of heart. Even when you encounter a bad driver on the road, he's liable to get away with it because you're too busy thinking about tonight's dinner with your family.

KL's going to be empty since it's the Immigration State of Malaysia. I will be going home too but can't afford to go home too many times....only at the end of the year in order to celebrate the birthing of 2003 with my family and friends.

Selamat Hari Raya and Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year!!!! to friends and acquantainces and everyone out there who is celebrating .....or not.

TO my mum, dad, sister: Janice, friends: Lisa and hubby Ban Hu, Melinda, Szu Ping, Thing May, Kong Wai, Nigel, Elene, Tubbydolphin, Adam, Michael, Danny......Happy Holidays and Happy Chinese New Year!

(I know getting ahead of myself)

Hi there! Time's running out on my one-month assignment here at my new project. I have learned lots and had fun doing it. Just have to wait and see if they extend my posting.

This coming Sunday is the KL Duck Race! We have a duck just waiting to win. His name is ED and whoever doesn't have a duck but is interested in supporting one, Ed's your man!

Gosh, so much has been happening lately that it is kind of difficult to keep up and report about it....but suffice to say I've been running around and travelling alot especially since my sister is back from the States.

We just came back from Haadyai so we bought a lot of new stuff at unbelieveably affordable prices. Had my favourite massage as well.

Just reread Ender's Game and is a little bit into Speaker for the Dead....you guys who haven't taken me up on my invitation to read the trilogy should be punished!

Anyway, my parting words for this session are: Enjoy Life....Take Care...Love Somebody

So what on earth has been happening with Blogger? I just read some of my past blogs and thought, damn, I have learned so much in the past year. Of course some of the things that I have learned but not been able to put up due to some Blogger mishaps. Wonder if they've remedied it. I would love to keep writing so friends and family can see what's been going on with me!

Let's see if this goes through....

Yahoo! News - Miss Universe Fired, to Be Replaced by Runner-Up

To think that beautiful woman won just so she could get fired! No, no, that's not the case but I think it is just plain dumb to have come so far but risk as well as sacrifice all that you have accomplished.

Why would she shame herself as well as her country like that! I can bet you the promotion to captain doesn't come anymore....

Life has been busy so forgive me for not writing more often. I cannot wait for the new Lord of the Rings movie 2 to come out in December.

I just came back from a hectic weekend in Penang. I think everywhere around the world, whenever you go home, however long you go home, it is never enough.

By the way, had dinner last night at TGI Friday's at Section 14. Let me tell you the service there was baddish and the menu selection isn't too great either. And to think I 'chose' (through a coin toss) Friday's over Sushi King....never again! Chili's anytime for me!

Well, there you go! Did you know that he was going to pay USD 20 million to go up??

Wonder what actually happened and what is the true story!

AND, the weekend is coming up with the 3R Fresh Face Finals on Friday and Saturday! One heck of a scary thing! Wish me luck! Tell you all about it later!

Well, Good times come and Good times go....BUT then, Bad times come and Bad times go too. So sometimes when the world feels horrible and sad, remember the happy occasions that touched your heart and made your day.

Received two bits of news on Tuesday that has got my mind ringing until now....

Good news: I may become famous to some people
Bad news: I have lost my standing with some people

I know it's easy to say 'Head up, Things will look better soon!' but not quite as easy to actually follow through with it. These are the times when you need your friends....friends who will be there to hold your hand and lend you an ear and a shoulder because not everyone can understand what you are saying.

I just read this very good saying: "Friends may not be able to pull you up but they will always think of ways not to let you fall!"

Friendship is an important ingredient in life. No matter where you go, no matter what you do, you will always deal with people. It is up to you to decide if you want to make them your friends....Through my good news, I may gain many friends and acquaintances, through my bad news, I seem to think and feel that I have lost one.....not lost a friend....but a change in the type of friendship we had built together.

So, what do you do? Cry a little and then rest to face another day. I could probably do it by myself but rest assured, I have done it better with my friends!

Well, Annual Dinner's here and gone and I didn't win ANY lucky draw prizes. The person who won the Grand Prize of an all-expenses paid trip to Hong Kong for 2 for 4 days/3 nights however, totally deserved it because she worked so hard on the committee! :)

Though I did get little tokens for my stint on the committee....Hugo Boss Woman EDT and body lotion.

Now the next challenge will be the EDS Global Volunteer Day in October. 4 weeks to plan for that and we had 3 weeks to plan for the Annual Dinner. Considering our time limits, I imagine we did a pretty good job.....good MCeeing, good games, good prizes, good band, good fun!

Our Annual Dinner and Dance 2002 is coming up! It's time to get cracking about costumes and dates....well, about costumes anyway. The theme this year is Flower Power so I've got to get started on looking for flowery hippie free love kind of stuff.

Work is fine although slowing down as I said a few posts back.

Am rather bothered by the news reports in the papers about the Hudud laws that are being debated around the country although its influence would be limited only to certain states in the country (for the moment; if this ludicrousness doesn't stop). I read an interview yesterday in the Star where the proceedings, intricacies and workings of the Hudud/Syariah investigations and investigators were explained. I must say, though, that if the intention of the interview was to clear up doubts and inquiries about the Hudud law, it failed miserably.

I am not proud to say that I was almost laughing to myself while reading through it but some of the 'well-thought out', 'just', 'merciful' workings were just too scary to take seriously.

Let us hope the voters, when it comes to such a serious issue as this, take to heart what their vote will do and who their votes will put into power rather than thinking with the hearts and put the whole democracy at risk.

If the powers that be are so adamant about putting into effect religious laws that seek to do good and seek to be the mainstay of a life well-led, let us see the advantages of it. Seek to enlighten the unelightened should they be so confident that they are able to whip the country into better shape. It's time debates and arguments stop being petty and childish so that the good of the people can finally come to the forefront.

Power is power but this is a nation's lives you are 'playing' about with.

My birthday just passed and this year I had a whole lot of wonderful gifts from my friends and family. Flowers, chocolates, perfumes, lingerie (!), apparel, shoes, cakes, cakes and cakes!!!

It was great fun as the gifts and celebrations were all spread out over the course of a few days so I could stretch my birthday fun longer....was looking for a diamond ring but that didn't pan out since I couldn't find it anymore! I wonder what happened as I saw so many pieces before I was seriously looking for it....Bummer!

But all in all, one year older but wiser and happy!

Well, work is running short, can you believe it!

Damn, I just found out where all my missing mails went..... you see I have two different blogs and all my previous posts went to the other blog.

I am thinking of visiting my sister in the States near the end of this year and then drive around New Zealand end of next year. Anybody got suggestions for places of interes?

Life has taken quite a mundane turn. Things are still happening but day in and day out, there isn't quite as much surprise (the nice kind) and work is slowing down.....well, what the heck, some people want the peace and comfortable feeling right....yes, yes I am rambling...but since only my friends read this, it's right that they understand what I am feeling right? :)

My Ducky didn't win but at least I got some soft toys!!!
ok i don't know what is wrong with blogger but so many of my posts since 16th have disappeared! What's happening?

Tuesday, July 16, 2002

Well, this is the first of 'four' weeks at my new project and yesterday was the first day. Everything seemed ok and the people are cool but the Internet connectivity here is the PITS. I only wish I was a techie and was able to tweak around until I could get things working to my liking.

Other than that, life is pretty mundane now although a couple of days ago, I did break one of my nails....down into my nail bed. So it bled and hurt and hurt and bled. Now I am just kinda stuck to it not getting wet. This morning, out of sheer desperation, (am unsure why hair salons near my place don't open after 7pm), I had to wash my hair one-handed....wonder if that's a record! :)

Anyway, good luck to me at my new work place and to everybody else who's trying out new things!

HOT DOG! My partner and I didn't win our dance competition on Sunday! How disappointing. Although I must admit that part of it was my fault since I was off-timing.

The ironic thing that happened was that competition usually throws the more difficult music (e.g. faster) at the competitors, so we were practising like nobody's business to relatively quick music. Who's to know they went and played SLOWER music!!!! Arrahahshghhhh!!!

Anyway, I don't think we would have won since all the other competitors were so obviously experienced and thoroughly exploited the fact that they performed the 'flash and pomp' routine beautifully and oh so professionally for people competing in the 'Beginner' and 'Novice' categories.

Ah well, run away, nurse wounds and live to dance another day.....in November!!! :)

thestar.com.my: eCentral: News & Features

Yes! I saw this performance when the rest of the world was cheering for Brazil and maybe Germany for Germany! ;)

Yuan Yuan Tan really brings an excellent polished essence to the stage the moment she steps from the wings. I especially enjoyed her 'Habanera' solo which, according to the programme, was choreographed by Choong Wan Chin to music from 'Carmen'. It was cheeky and balletic without being slapstick (as much slapstick as ballet can get...) It was wonderful really. She had these long graceful arms and legs and it was enough to see her dance that one solo.

Her second act, the pas de deux with David Arce for some reason or another, failed to shine as much as her solo did. She seemed almost irritated with him....don't know if he was as 'accomplished' a dancer as she was...therefore. I think I saw her wobble once on her supporting foot...he must not have been paying attention. Because we all know a principal does not want to dance with a member of the corps de ballet right? Unless he is exceptionally talented and promising or good looking. David Arce did not dance enough that night to warrant an evaluation either way.

I also thoroughly enjoyed Choong Wan Chin's work. The 'Circus Dream' and 'The Ghost and His Face' were refreshing and fun.

And after the performance, I was pampered with strawberries and cream outside the theatre (auditorium).....how lucky can one get huh?!

Windtalkers. Movie Review @ Hollywood.com - The best online source for movie reviews.

The topic this week is Windtalkers or Wintalkers according to a cinema in MId Valley Megamall. The premise of the story promises to be tear-jerker with lots of insightful, inner contemplation in man that so often draws the crowds. However, this movie was unnecessarily long and not tear-jerking to boot.

Nicholas Cage plays Joe Enders, a hardened stoic soldier who has the deaths of his former soldiers weighing heavily on his conscience and Adam Beach plays Ben Yahzee, a Navajo language code talker and a fresh patriot eager to do his part for his country and his family. Of course, the story pits these two men together against the world, or in this case, against the Japanese. Enders is duty-bound to protect Yahzee (read: THE CODE) at all costs. You get an inkling that this is why Enders does not allow himself to get too close and personal with Yahzee. However, the pervasiveness of this emotion runs throughout the movie...so much so that at the end of it all, you conclude that the objective of the movie doesn't get fulfilled. The audience does not see the inner turmoil and struggle a man has to go through in deciding to betray his man or his country. The audience does not share the indecision and guilt Enders fights with from the past and from the present. I think the audience pretty much leaves the cinema how they entered it.

Needless to say, the chemistry between Cage and Beach is not palpable. One would do better to watch the camaraderie between Ox Anderson (Christian Slater) and Charlie Whitehorse (Roger Willie). They portray more of the brotherhood one would expect from war buddies. Cage just comes across as a tired uninspired human but the opposite as a soldier. There is a smattering of scenes where Enders and Yahzee try to bond and act human but the end-result has a lot that can be improved.

My friend, when watching the trailer, concluded that Ben Yahzee was sure to die and/but guess what......Yes, I actually meant 'guess'!

Anyhow, what's this weird coincidence with me and 'Ender' huh?

Gosh it's been a busy week and it promises to get busier!

Last week I attended my friend's wedding which made me wanna get married now too...except for the glaring absence and need of a groom. How pathetic can the situation be huh?

Anyway, an update on Ender's Game. The afore mentioned is the first (complete) instalment (on its own) of the quartrology with Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide and Children of the Mind following on its heels. And another series from Bean's POV (Point of View) is Ender's Shadow.....I now have the full copies of #2 and #3 but have yet to read them....(read above, keyword: Busy). Will keep you guys updated on the stories.

READ IT YOU GUYS!!! (if you haven't) :)

Ender's Game

A fabulous book I read recently was Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. It's of the sci-fi genre but please trust me when I say that even if you are not a sci-fi fan. It is NOT a book to miss. It's a few hundred pages long but you won't notice it. In fact, you'll be wishing there were more pages when you actually reach the end. Ender's Game is the first instalment of a trilogy.

It's about a young boy, age 6 no less, who has been hand-picked as the only one capable of saving the Earth from total destruction to be wreaked on them by an alien race. The fight has been on for years and years but this is the Final Battle and only Ender can ultimately 'end the fight'. He is plucked from the 'relative' safety (he has a malicious cruel brother, a caring sensitive sister and non-descript parents) of his home to train intensively at Battle School.

All sorts of techniques, challenges and strategies are thrown at him to physically and mentally prepare as well as test his abilities. Along the way, the seemingly destined to remain friendless and lonely, does manage to gain the friendship and loyalty of several fellow students, Alai, Bean, Hot Soup (!) and the one fighther girl in the whole story, Petra. Even Card's sub-plot with Peter and Valentine, Ender's siblings, ties in more tightly than usual sub-plots in novels.

This novel was written in 1977 with fantastic imagination for the 'futuristic' use of computers, 360 degree views and graphics (excuse my poor use of technical terms).

The great thing about Ender's Game is that it succesfully draws you into the story and you are able to empathise as well as symphatise with Ender. It seems an awful load to lay on the shoulders of a boy this young...a fact you may have to keep reminding yourself because of the way he talks, presents ideas and devises strategies. But we ARE dealing with child geniuses here.

Ender's Game is a book to be read by readers and non-readers period. You will not regret it....I will not reveal the ending to you but I must say I had different notions of how it could have gone. One of which was that the whole 'adventure' was the Ultimate Dream of a Loser Boy. But as I got along with the story, I realised the revelation in the end. It's Unbelievably, Indescribably Good-Feeling Inducing.

P.S. The person to whom I will be forever grateful for introducing me to the book, albeit as a passing sentence, just commited "A Grave Mistake" and a half! He suggested Ender's Game be made into a cartoon!!!!!

I guess you can tell it's been a busy busyyy week. There was a rush at work but now I am back....ready to tackle whatever the hot topic is at the moment.....Just give me a moment to snare the hot topic ok.....

My Hot Topic of the Day is:

People using your stuff without asking you first. Housemates are probably the biggest culprits...ok I don't know that for sure but they sure are to me! However, the weird thing is that it's a seasonal thing....usually involving when housemates' FRIENDS come a-visiting. Did nobody ever teach these people that they are NOT SUPPOSED to be using other people's stuff without having the courtesy of asking first?

I don't care if it's toothpaste, or glue or my slippers or my rubbish. ASK ME FIRST! What makes my situation so ingratiating is that they are using my Ultra-Expensive Hair Care products. I could commit blue murder! Those Kiasu Visitors.....(need not mention where they come from eh? :)

Anyhow, being Asian and unnecessarily polite at times, I am just going to have to resort to stashing and safeguarding all my stuff in my room. God Help Me! I need to rent another room for storage......

MALAYSIA!!!! vs. brasil

Go Malaysia!!! Yes the match was quite good...had me screaming in the stands for the Malaysians to:

Keep up their good work (first half) and
Get their butts moving (second half).

It was an interesting match and I find that my patriotism comes foremost when Malaysia is pit against anyone else in any competition! I went to the match not intending to cheer for and support anyone but our fellow countrymen and I must give them the credit that for a 117th team in the world, we put up a good fight to the No.2s.

Let's not anyone say anything about the brasilians not actually extending themselves too much although they did get rougher and attacked more in the second half.

Nonetheless, maybe this World Cup 2002 will see me watching some games.

Yahoo! News - Hormone May Be Key to Long-Term Weight Loss -Study

Exciting developments in the science world. However, thinking about the suppression of appetite...does it make life good? Shouldn't you eat what you like just in moderate amounts? If we diet all our life long, wouldn't we miss out on the some of the good stuff in life....the food, the sensation, the ability to enjoy life in an aspect?

And for those who talk about feeling good eating nothing but celery and tomatoes or other 'extremist' forms of dieting, have they done it so much that that's the only thing they know and That feels good? Or have they justified it to themselves that it feels good?

"Waiter, one order of lasagne please!"
Yahoo! News - Remains Identified As Chandra Levy

Remember her? Another intern who was involved in a high-profile scandal. But unluckily for her, her jaunt into this high-powered, high-stakes world where anything can happen if you have enough influence ended in violence and death.

The police 'stopped short of calling it a criminal case', I wonder if perhaps she went looking for turtles in the park as well! Anyways, I guess we'll be hearing plenty of this later in the news unless an effort is being made to just bring the case to an end without too much ado....

Did you know that if you have a regular pattern in your daily life, it makes it easier for people to do you harm should they wish to?

Yahoo! News - NYC Warned of Possible Threats

I guess this isn't a very good time to visit the States! But how long is this drama going to drag on? Thousands of people have died and thousands more at risk....Is the message the 'terrorists' are trying to get through, getting through? Doesn't seem to be since the States doesn't seem to be looking inward for sources of tension and contention.

I am not trying to be argumentative or subscribing to terroristic philosophies but I think parties involved need to reflect examine their histories, actions and possibly even future plans in order to shed some light on 'injustices' exacted on the world at large be it fair or unfair, called for or not.

The time has come for the halt of pointing fingers and blame assignation. It is better to sit and talk about how to resolve present problems and actually see the action plans through. Parties have to somehow let go of past prejudices and WANT to come together to work things out with no thought of personal pride but the welfare of the people who put their lives in your hands when you became the Leader of them.

E! Online - Movie Reviews - Star Wars: Episode II--Attack of the Clones (2002)

Ok, seen the movie, am doing the review now. First things first. I only fell asleep once and only had to be nudged awake once! Now, onwards we go.....(By the way, have never found the interest to watch Episode 4,5,6)

First thought that springs to mind: Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen were unbelievably uninspiring. Natalie, as Senator Armadillo, whoops! Amidala, had the SAME expression on her face for each scene of the movie, each sensation, each experience! What is this? This is what George Lucas snapped her up for?

Though I must give credit to her young lithe body which had to be exposed to draw the viewers attention to the fact that the Little Queen has grown up and is now attracting the attentions of men...ahem! one man. She never gets shot at during every fighting scene of the movie, gets hurt so her clothes can be ripped off and seems to be in the movie almost as eye candy even though she plays the main love interest as well as one of the most influential and conscientious senators around.

Hayden Christensen. I guess he does a good job in making people dislike him. He made me feel nothing except the fact that I didn't like him. I had real problems with his acting, ...not the character who grows up to be Darth Vader. Is he trying to become robotic and emotionless so early on? I really do not see what his colleagues, his director etc. are raving about. They say he has no idea he's so good....yeah, well I have no idea too! He seems like a real upstart who thinks too much of himself for his own good! And his mother's dying scene....nope, not a tear! From me that is.

However, the part where I came most alive was Yoda's Light Saber 'Whoom' against 'the bad guy' scene! What came out of my mouth was "Is his a little one?" with reference to Master Yoda's light saber! :) :) :) But I must say, it seemed really comic and juvenile the way he bounced about when it was a real scene about the perpetual battle between good and evil.

I am sorry Star Wars fans but your Episodes just do not bring me over to the 'dark side'. With 'great power comes great responsibility' and that responsibility does not include making people fall asleep in the middle of a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I can only say Thank God it wasn't a Gold Class ticket!

I left the cinema with no particular memories of Episode 2. It seemed pretty much a non-issue with its mushy lines, pancake actors and thin plot. I do not get what it's trying to say, except the symbolism when Anakin loses his arm, and I do not feel like I wish to try to find out more.

Cest la vie! Better watch "I Am Sam"!!!!!

P.S. Ryan Phillipe would have been a better Anakin!

Am tired and sleepy. Had very good chicken pasta last night but couldn't finish it...am having another good meal tonight but today has already started out rather cold. It's Interview Day! Nope, not applying for a new job but another project. It's like I not only had to go through an interview to get into this company but also to start work on other projects within this company. Definitely unnecessary stress and nervousness. Wish me luck!

Damn those TV3 announcements with the stupid "15 days left to World Cup". Like I care...am not even interested in the 'cute men' in 'tight shorts'. It's my Spa Day like I always say!

For the Episode 2 review, haven't seen it yet. Cinemas don't seem interested in selling tickets so I might as well just pick up a copy from Petaling Street eh? :)

Wednesday, May 15, 2002

Ok, I know it's been some time. I apologise...I have had lots of things to accomplish and ....no, why am I apologising and explaining? This is MY website and I shall write when I want to. Heehehehheeee....

Practising real hard for our upcoming dance competition on July 7th! Well, not really practising per say but thinking about execution of steps and listening to different music. It's been really cool. And one of the best things is that I shall get to shop for new dance shoes! What else makes a girl's day huh?

For the guy readers out there, here's something for you to chew on....Episode 2. Need I say more? Anybody dressing up? I have a date at the Gold Class/Normal Class/Front-Row Seat...whichever's available I think. Just hope I don't fall asleep again like the last time! I shall write a review of the movie. So check back soon...."You can't escape your destiny".

Hi there! Feeling a little peckish, am snacking on biscottis now. So, the most exciting news recently is that I will be entering a Latin Dance Competition in July....or at least my partner and I want to! Novice Category of course but the adrenaline rush that gives me is way beyond words. I can just imagine the hours put in, the laughter, the sweat, the ARGUMENTS, the sore and 'bleeding' feet.....Well, what do you expect with the Jive???

So many things to get done, get dance shoes, get costumes (?), get routine sorted out, get flourishes perfected...., get office work done. Well, priorities priorities eh?!

Guess what I read in the papers today? A popular Singaporean actor has donated half his liver to his aspiring actress girlfriend so she won't die within the week! Let's take stock of who, in our lives, would be willing to do that for us. Would there be anyone besides our families? Let me call.....ok, got one half of a liver.....thank you KW. :)
Who would you give half a liver to?

Should you wish to write me, -> errolyn@errolyn.com

TODAY is a buseeee buseee day! After work, it'll be my first class of Adult Ballet at the Federal Academy of Ballet followed by my International Latin dance class. So much dance in one day, enough to make a girl's head spin....(or piroutte as the case may be).

Mother's Day is coming up guys...what's in store for our beloved mamas? It's truly amazing, when you reflect, what they have sacrificed for us. Will I be like this as well in the future with my own kids? I have a fearful notion that I may be extremely punishing with them....especially if they do not fit my idea of ideal children who will make me proud. I know that sounds horrible but it is what it is .....a fearful notion that is feared by me....geezzzz...not even into post partum depression yet but thinking like this. Somebody help me!

Life is full of endings and beginnings isn't it. (I know today's posting is rather varied or jumbled, however you wanna look at it.) People who have been in my life so long are slowly phasing out on me and new people are proving themselves more thoughtful and friendly than imagined. Is this a good thing? What will my life hold for me at the end of it all?

What to say what to say. Isn't it great that there are so many plays and performances to watch in Malaysia! There was Chang and Eng, there will be Fame, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (unnecessarily long cumbersome title that) and today I just saw the ad for the Royal Shakespeare Company's interpretation of 'The Merchant of Venice'. If you know Mandarin, look to try out the life story of Buddha, 'Siddharta' soon.

Dare I hope for ballets soon?

You know what....life is great isn't it? I don't mean to piss anybody off or 'make' their day but really.....no, the grass isn't greener and the skies aren't bluer but there is a certain quality to the day. Who cares if my thighs are heavier, my hips are bigger or that my nose is now stuck??!! There is at least one person out there who thinks my skin glows and that I look pretty when I smile ...they have a thing for my dimples me thinks. Anyway, yeah, the day seems Nice to me!

(When it comes down to it, the 'one person out there' can be just me!)

Ooh! It's been days hasn't it....Yesterday was a holiday. Was a lazy day spent sleeping, watching a little tv and buying groceries. Not the kind of day one would write about. So...until something more exciting happens besides me catching the three episode special of 'Sex and the City', I'll leave you to your own 'interesting' day.

(I guess I could write about the fact that the World Cup is 30 days away and TV3 is announcing irritating little countdowns but why would I wanna get EVERYBODY else down eh?!)

Can you believe all these weird murders and deaths and bad tidings just washing up all over the world? Makes you really pause and agonise over what the world is coming to doesn't it? For 10 minutes at least.

Sometimes I stop and think, about my life and about changing, but then the days go by as normal and people forget. You started out thinking I have to appreciate and treasure what I have but you still lose your temper, you still forget to kiss goodbye in the morning before you leave for work and you still can't come off that high peg to apologise for all the hurt you have caused in the past.

Life is too short to spend it being angry and bitter and envious. If we love ourselves, love life and love the people around us for who they are, good or bad, even a short life will be a life well-lived.

Wouldn't you rather laugh and be beautiful than scowl and skulk? If you do the latter too much, trust me, pretty soon there'll be no one left around you to care!

Well, not going to be around to update my posts for some time. Hope you don't miss me too much. But before I go, I would like to ponder on a small little item that sometimes crops up in people's lives and loves. Have you ever thought about blind dates? I wonder what it would be like to go on one? Especially with all the pressure involved....I think these set-ups rarely work anyway but it would be exciting if one does happen to spark, wouldn't it? WOULDN'T IT?!!!

'Geek' or 'God', 'Disgust' or 'Delight', 'Elimination' or 'Everlasting'???
THE WORLD CUP 2002

To use a colloquialism, HAIYA!!! The World Cup is just around the corner but obviously not near enough for certain quarters. I must say I still cannot fathom the attraction to this game where men run about in baggy shorts and knee socks trying to kick a ball around. By the way, why is the ball coloured black and white?

Most of the men I know swear that life without football is almost not worth living. Where does the fascination come from? How did it germinate? From conversations with fanatics, it seems to start when they're young. If you're a boy between the impressionable ages of 5-12, and you're exposed to football (either virtual or reality), you're very likely to become a footie junkie as you grow into adulthood. If you were not, the addiction rarely takes hold later on.

(I cannot believe I am talking so much about football!) Time to move on....one last thought though....
The World Cup is Not My Cup of Tea!!!

It starts... when?..... 5 weeks on?
Yahoo! News - Odd Portrait Has Many Guessing Shakespeare Was Gay

Aha! What do you think of that? Although it is extremely interesting to conjecture if Shakespeare was gay, I must say it is terribly common for the 'noble' people of yester-ages to dress elaborately. By today's standards some people would definitely think that they dressed rather femininely! But I won't say anything concrete on the subject especially since I am neither a poet nor an expert on the trends of yesteryears or gay habits. To each his own!!!

Did you know that I just read in the papers that homosexual activity abounds sometimes not because the man is gay but because they have limited access to women and other men and boys just happen to be the most attractive of the available options.
This has been an exciting morning. It's always a boost to learn something new especially when it has to do with the Internet. But it has to be interesting and new. I found out, through a very special friend, about Blogger.com and how it posts these messages to my website. And now I can share my day with people around the world! So, now all I am waiting to see is if Blogger really makes you feel like you're the 'King of the Worldddddd'.

I shall be returning. Keep in touch!
