Well, Good times come and Good times go....BUT then, Bad times come and Bad times go too. So sometimes when the world feels horrible and sad, remember the happy occasions that touched your heart and made your day.

Received two bits of news on Tuesday that has got my mind ringing until now....

Good news: I may become famous to some people
Bad news: I have lost my standing with some people

I know it's easy to say 'Head up, Things will look better soon!' but not quite as easy to actually follow through with it. These are the times when you need your friends....friends who will be there to hold your hand and lend you an ear and a shoulder because not everyone can understand what you are saying.

I just read this very good saying: "Friends may not be able to pull you up but they will always think of ways not to let you fall!"

Friendship is an important ingredient in life. No matter where you go, no matter what you do, you will always deal with people. It is up to you to decide if you want to make them your friends....Through my good news, I may gain many friends and acquaintances, through my bad news, I seem to think and feel that I have lost one.....not lost a friend....but a change in the type of friendship we had built together.

So, what do you do? Cry a little and then rest to face another day. I could probably do it by myself but rest assured, I have done it better with my friends!

Well, Annual Dinner's here and gone and I didn't win ANY lucky draw prizes. The person who won the Grand Prize of an all-expenses paid trip to Hong Kong for 2 for 4 days/3 nights however, totally deserved it because she worked so hard on the committee! :)

Though I did get little tokens for my stint on the committee....Hugo Boss Woman EDT and body lotion.

Now the next challenge will be the EDS Global Volunteer Day in October. 4 weeks to plan for that and we had 3 weeks to plan for the Annual Dinner. Considering our time limits, I imagine we did a pretty good job.....good MCeeing, good games, good prizes, good band, good fun!

Our Annual Dinner and Dance 2002 is coming up! It's time to get cracking about costumes and dates....well, about costumes anyway. The theme this year is Flower Power so I've got to get started on looking for flowery hippie free love kind of stuff.

Work is fine although slowing down as I said a few posts back.

Am rather bothered by the news reports in the papers about the Hudud laws that are being debated around the country although its influence would be limited only to certain states in the country (for the moment; if this ludicrousness doesn't stop). I read an interview yesterday in the Star where the proceedings, intricacies and workings of the Hudud/Syariah investigations and investigators were explained. I must say, though, that if the intention of the interview was to clear up doubts and inquiries about the Hudud law, it failed miserably.

I am not proud to say that I was almost laughing to myself while reading through it but some of the 'well-thought out', 'just', 'merciful' workings were just too scary to take seriously.

Let us hope the voters, when it comes to such a serious issue as this, take to heart what their vote will do and who their votes will put into power rather than thinking with the hearts and put the whole democracy at risk.

If the powers that be are so adamant about putting into effect religious laws that seek to do good and seek to be the mainstay of a life well-led, let us see the advantages of it. Seek to enlighten the unelightened should they be so confident that they are able to whip the country into better shape. It's time debates and arguments stop being petty and childish so that the good of the people can finally come to the forefront.

Power is power but this is a nation's lives you are 'playing' about with.

My birthday just passed and this year I had a whole lot of wonderful gifts from my friends and family. Flowers, chocolates, perfumes, lingerie (!), apparel, shoes, cakes, cakes and cakes!!!

It was great fun as the gifts and celebrations were all spread out over the course of a few days so I could stretch my birthday fun longer....was looking for a diamond ring but that didn't pan out since I couldn't find it anymore! I wonder what happened as I saw so many pieces before I was seriously looking for it....Bummer!

But all in all, one year older but wiser and happy!

(Here's the Missing Post from 1/8/02)

Hi there! Time's running out on my one-month assignment here at my new project. I have learned lots and had fun doing it. Just have to wait and see if they extend my posting.

This coming Sunday is the KL Duck Race! We have a duck just waiting to win. His name is ED and whoever doesn't have a duck but is interested in supporting one, Ed's your man!

Gosh, so much has been happening lately that it is kind of difficult to keep up and report about it....but suffice to say I've been running around and travelling alot especially since my sister is back from the States.

We just came back from Haadyai so we bought a lot of new stuff at unbelieveably affordable prices. Had my favourite massage as well.

Just reread Ender's Game and is a little bit into Speaker for the Dead....you guys who haven't taken me up on my invitation to read the trilogy should be punished!

Anyway, my parting words for this session are: Enjoy Life....Take Care...Love Somebody
Well, work is running short, can you believe it!

Damn, I just found out where all my missing mails went..... you see I have two different blogs and all my previous posts went to the other blog.

I am thinking of visiting my sister in the States near the end of this year and then drive around New Zealand end of next year. Anybody got suggestions for places of interes?

Life has taken quite a mundane turn. Things are still happening but day in and day out, there isn't quite as much surprise (the nice kind) and work is slowing down.....well, what the heck, some people want the peace and comfortable feeling right....yes, yes I am rambling...but since only my friends read this, it's right that they understand what I am feeling right? :)
